Merry Christmas. That's what people say at Christmas, right?
This is our only release this year. Just this. A whole year without a single release.
The reasons are many, some are obvious, some too complex to be explained, even too complex even to be understood. The music business is pure madness. There are millions bands around, they all starve, but at least they play music and enjoy it.
We? We are a free channel for the bands to get seen, have their music spread, music that will always belong to whoever composed, wrote, played and recorded it. To make sure this keeps on happening, we work our arse off. For free. On mornings, noons, evenings and nights.
But Misantrof doesn't even get donations anymore, nor any form of help.
Misantrof is cool when it makes presents, like this, but it's not when it needs help. Fuck Misantrof.
But, hey, you band out there... with little cash you get a contract with a label today. Labels without even a cheap web page are around with a 300+ bands roster. The guys in the bands think they got signed. The label get paid few bucks to make the signing happening, the offers a “promo package”; forwards few emails (poor emails, lacking any format, image or proper band introduction) to a bunch of unknown webzine... and that's it. Everybody's happy. The label manager got the money for the next Saturday night drinking, the band waits forever to get famous (and that will not happen), and nobody will ever listen to, or buy, that music. Multiply this for the number of unknown labels and unknown bands... and you get the figures of this artistic tragedy we are experiencing nowadays.
But we are THE anti-label. We don't pay, we don't get paid, but make sure everybody gets the music. Because after religions, politics and humanity (we are against all that stuff) the sole thing we truly believe and worship is MUSIC.
Today this anti-label is kept alive by a bunch of die hard activists, all following the original idea crafted by Mr. Vrangsinn, our anti-President. During 2017 we plan to change the way this is working. We need people. We will look for people sharing our visions and not pretending to be either paid, or asked for stuff to be done. In here we all are active, we don't need somebody giving orders or telling what to do. Everybody knows what to do, what is needed to get a release like this done.
The changes could be of any kind: from releasing an album per week with a new web platform... to a total shut down of the system, the idea, the vision.
We have an anti-commercial vision offering people the product of the idea. For free. We exist because you are out there letting us exist. It's your decision whether we shall live or must die.
Just remember: believe and worship MUSIC. MerryAnti-Christmas.
Recorded by each artist in decaying studios, grave yards, bathrooms or prison cells. All of them have been pretty busy during whole Autumn 2016, to give birth to this. Mastered by Vrangsinn. Engineered by Misantrof Anti-Human Team. Cover artwork made by His ugh-ness Somber Von Plaag.
