-Neongod is a thrash/death metal band based in Kristiansand, Norway. The band was formed in 2003 by guitarist Kjell Jacobsen and former drummer Sven Rothe. Tom Aksel Hansen and Gøran Bomann (Chain Collector, Carpathian Forest) joined shortly after on bass and guitar. The search after a vocalist was a lengthy effort, and late 2003 the exile trønder, Svein Reinton a old-school thrash-metal mate took the challenge, and prooved that he was the person and vocalist the band needed. Most of 2004 the band was redefining the music, producing new material,and with Svein vocals our style became more extreme.
The Neongod demo 05 and Anarchaos demo 06 recoeved good reveiws and feedback overall. Guitarist Ivan Gujic joined the band in good time before the recording of the debut album Disease Inc. . Tom Axel quit the band in this period for personal reasons.
Ole Vistnes (Zerozonic, Tristania) helped us out as session bassist on that recording. Sven left the band early winter 08, and old time friend & homie Anders Kobro (Carpathian Forest, In The Woods, Green Carnation, Chain Collector drummer)! that we already have shared reharsal place with for years was a natural choice for Neongod...
The lineup was complete when bassplayer Morten Jacobsen fell down from the moon providing insanity and attitude. Summer 2010 we recorded the 5 track EP "Cleareyes". The songs and sound on this EP is Neongod anno 2010, and current line-up finally completes Neongod force! The future for Neongod will be hard work and dedication to bring quality metal to the people and last but not least to kick ass live on a stage near you!!! The official release of "Cleareyes" EP is set to Februar 2011.
